Bio

After graduation in '04, I attended UNC-Chapel Hill and majored in Mandarin Chinese & English, minoring in Creative Writing. Fell in love with North Carolina and my future wife, Juliann, at UNC! I graduated in 2008 and moved to Washington, DC, where I took a government contracting job but also began baking and selling cookies to local coffee shops. In 2012, I left the corporate world to launch DC's first cookie truck. Currently we have six Captain Cookie bakeries in DC, Virginia, and North Carolina, along with three cookie trucks. Juliann and I also launched Tastemakers, an incubator kitchen in DC with 100+ business members. We took advantage of our slow business during the pandemic to relocate to Raleigh, NC and are loving life with our three kids - Jake, Alexis, and Noah. PS - Yes, I still like cookies!
