We met in 2012 during Daniel’s sophomore year and Kristen’s junior year. Kristen was a calculus tutor and tutored a baseball player that was on the Jenks baseball team with Daniel. Kristen expressed her interest in Daniel during a tutoring session, so the friend gave her Daniel’s number. Kristen never got the courage to text Daniel, but she did go to a baseball game with friends. 

While driving home, a message popped up on Kristen’s phone from Daniel’s number causing her to throw the phone in surprise and excitement. One thing led to another, and we started dating and were inseparable from that moment on.

After graduating from Jenks, we both attended and ultimately graduated from the University of Tulsa. Currently, Daniel works as a Landman for Calyx Energy III, LLC and Kristen spent the last five years teaching 4th grade at Jenks Northwest Elementary where she now serves as the site Teaching and Learning Specialist.

Kristen’s younger brother attends high school at JHS where he now plays on the baseball team. He grew up watching Daniel play, and it’s so cool to see him on Hinch field himself now. Today, we love going to his games and thinking back on how Jenks baseball and academics brought us together. We owe eleven years of love and six years of marriage to JHS! Jenks is still such a big part of our lives. We are so thankful that it led us to each other and continues to bring us so much joy.
